Steel strapping tensioners are used with flat steel strap where high load security is required for heavy, rigid or sharp-edged products. They are commonly used in metal processing, timber, construction materials, engineering and export packing, where loads are often heavy, rigid or difficult to secure. The range includes standard, heavy-duty and extra heavy-duty models for different duty levels, from regular pallet securing through to wider, higher-strength strap up to 32mm. Tool selection should be based on strap width, pack shape, load weight and frequency of use, helping ensure the right balance of performance, handling and durability. These tensioners are used before sealing and should be paired with compatible steel seals and sealers to create a secure finished joint. They are designed specifically for steel strapping; polyester, polypropylene and corded strapping require separate plastic strapping tensioners.
